Springwood (4127)
Located 21 km south of Brisbane, Springwood (4127) was named for the pineapple plantation of Brig. Sam Langford and is mix of residential, commercial, community facility and a significant number of parks. As a major centre, Springwood has a bus station, several hotels, four schools, three shopping centres, ambulance, police and fire stations and numerous churches. In 2011, about 9000 people lived in Springwood, their average age being 37 years. Most residents were Anglo-Australian with a minority from South Africa and English was spoken almost exclusively at home.
