Loganholme (4129)
29 km to Brisbane’s south and bordering the Logan River, Loganholme (4129) is bisected by Pacific and Logan Motorways. A sugar mill was refurbished from a cotton gin in 1867 and in the 1870s a ferry crossed the Logan River at Loganholme. With increasing traffic congestion, this was replaced by a bridge in the 1920s, a road crossing in 1931 and upgraded to the Pacific Motorway in 1999.
Today Loganholme has a school first opened in 1873, several large parks, a wastewater treatment plant, commercial and industrial areas, a police station, and a retail district with large retailers. It is also well served by regular buses to Beenleigh and Logan City as well as ready access to two major motorways.
In 2011, 6100 people lived in Loganholme, their average age is 31 years. Most residents were Anglo-Australian with a minority from South Africa with English spoken exclusively at home.
