Highvale (4520)
Located about 20 km north of Brisbane in the Moreton Bay Area, Highvale (4520) is a rural village at the base of Mounts Nebo and Glorious, against the backdrop of the D’Aguilar Range, and at the head of the South Pine River. Because of its rural situation, it is an attractive weekend destination for horse riders and hosts a number of events including riding for the disabled. Highvale has a sizeable Baha’i community who also offer spiritual growth retreats. The Samford Show is hosted annually and a Men’s Shed has been opened.
In 2011, 1500 people lived in Highvale, their average age being 40 years. Apart fro being Anglo-Australian, a minority were from South Africa. Almost all spoke only English at home.
