Building Inspection Auchenflower

Auchenflower (4066)

An inner-city suburb, located only 3 km west Brisbane’s CBD, Auchenflower (4066) was named by Thomas McIlwraith in the 1880s and was originally rural. Trams operated in Auchenflower from 1900 until a serious fire in the depot closed the services in 1962. The beginning of the Night Owl franchise opened in Auchenflower in 1975 and the suburb was severely affected by the 2011 Brisbane floods.

The suburb is also home to one of Brisbane’s most prestigious private hospitals, the Wesley Hospital. Auchenflower is also very well serviced by all forms of transport, namely rail connecting it to Ipswich and Brisbane, with bus connecting it to Brisbane and surrounding western suburbs, major arterial roads and bypass tunnels with access to motorways and a bikeway along the river into Brisbane city.

In 2011, 5400 people lived in Auchenflower, their average age being 30 years and although most were Anglo-Australian, a minority were also from United States, India, and China with Mandarin, Spanish and Cantonese being spoken alongside English at home.

Established 30 years, ABIS Building and pest inspectors cover the whole of Southeast Queensland. Our close knit team focused on helping you buy or sell your home.
