Mackenzie (4156)
Located 20 km from Brisbane, Mackenzie (4156) is a small suburb, only partially developed with a significant portion still undeveloped bush around Mt Petrie. The suburb has two schools, two churches, a petrol station and no shopping facilities. However, Mackenzie does have easy access to Brisbane and surrounding suburbs via major arterial roads, the South East Freeway, and the Gateway Motorway which intersect Mackenzie as well as regular bus services.
In 2011, 1800 people lived in Mackenzie, their average age being 36 years. Most residents were Anglo-Australian with notable exceptions being from South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. Although English was spoken primarily at home, this was seconded by Greek, Afrikaans, Sinhalese, Cantonese, and Serbian.
