Virginia (4014)
Situated 11 km north of Brisbane city, Virginia (4014) is mainly residential, characterised by traditional Queenslander style homes and was named for the Virginia Brick Company opened in 1897. Today, Virginia is served by regular rail access to Brisbane and surrounding suburbs as well as hosting a major bus depot. Virginia is also known for a major golf club which is actually situated within its adjoining suburb.
In 2011 about 2100 people lived in Virginia, 80% of which originated in Australia, England or New Zealand. A minority were born in India or China with Chinese or Punjabi spoken as second languages at home.
