Petrie Terrace (4000)
Located in Brisbane city, just 2 km from the CBD, Petrie Terrace (4000) lies between Hale Street to the west and Countess Street to the east, and Musgrave Road to the north and Milton Road to the south. It has only one school but ready-access to many schools including prestigious grammar schools, in adjoining suburbs. The suburb is steeped in history and has many heritage-listed properties.
Being close to the inner city, the area has undergone a recent urban revival, attracting young professional singles, couples without children and retirees downsizing attracted to the high-density lifestyle with access to a range of entertainment, shopping and dining choices. To this end, the former Police Station has been converted into a retail/commercial/residential precinct with cinemas, shops, offices, restaurants and apartments, connected with the railway station. In 2011, about 1200 people lived in Petrie Terrace.
