Mount Cotton (4165)
On the Eastside 34 km from the Brisbane CBD, Mount Cotton (4165) was named after Major Cotton, the commandant of Moreton Bay penal colony. Koalas are protected within the Venman National Park and a wildlife corridor from the mountain along Eprapah Creek. Sir romper winery was opened in 2000.
Mt Cotton had a young population of 4,800 in 2011, with an average age of 32 years. Other than Australia, England, and New Zealand, a notable number of residents were born in South Africa, with 94% speaking solely English at home.
