Ellen Grove (4078)
Situated 20 km to Brisbane’s southwest, bounded by the Logan Motorway to its west and bisected by the Centenary Highway, Ellen Grove (4078) was named for the daughter of the land’s original owner. Ellen Grove was first subdivided without services in 1959 and extended in 2009 in response to a significant increase in population. Today Ellen Grove has a primary school, a small shopping centre, a public swimming pool, and a visiting library.
In 2011, 2500 people lived in Ellen Grove, their average age is 28 years with half of the residents born overseas in countries including Vietnam, Samoa, and the Philippines where Vietnamese, Kirundi, Mandarin, and Vietnamese are spoken alongside English at home.
