Cashmere (4500)
In the Northern Suburbs, Cashmere is 25 km to the north of the Brisbane CBD, at the base of the D’Aguilar Range and adjacent to Lake Samsonvale. This position means that it is a leafy large acreage, a suburb with lots of native bushlands. As of 2011, 4,600 people were resident, their average age is 35 years.
Most were born in Australia, New Zealand or England, although a notable minority was born in South Africa. Hence English was primarily spoken at home with a small number also speaking Afrikaans.
