Meadowbrook (4131)

Located 27 km to Brisbane's south bordering the Gold Coast rail on the south, and following the Logan River, Meadowbrook (4131) was excised from Loganlea in 1991. Its position makes Meadowbrook flood prone. Once grazing land, this has since been converted into parkland with barbecues, playgrounds and dog parks. A golf course, part of the Griffith University and TAFE opened in 1998 and the Logan Hospital established in 1990 are all also located within this defined flood zone.

Meadowbrook is a mix of residential, industrial and large-scale community facilities. It has also been designated as a major centre dedicated to research, education and health. This is because Meadowbrook is in a strategic transport position being crossed by the Logan Motorway, the Beenleigh and Gold Coast rail lines, and a major arterial road, Loganlea Road. It is also serviced by regular buses to Logan City, Beenleigh and surrounding suburbs and there are several bikeways. Rapid population growth in the suburb has caused parking congestion problems which have necessitated restricted parking.

In 2011, 3200 people lived in Meadowbrook, their average age is 31 years. Residents are from a host of countries apart from Anglo-Australian, with some from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Fiji such that Malay, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Cantonese, and Hindi were spoken alongside English at home.
