Mango Hill (4509)
On the Northside, 25 km north of the Brisbane CBD, Mango Hill (4509) was named for the mango trees lining its major thoroughfare, Anzac Avenue. In 2006 the area was subdivided to form a major residential subdivision, North Lakes which rivals Chermside as a mini city, with a major shopping complex, extensive educational, health and recreational facilities as well as major transport infrastructure including rail, buses and motorways.
In 2011, 4300 people lived in North Lakes, their average age is 33 years. Although most were Anglo-Australian, a minority were from South Africa. Almost all spoke only English at home.
