The suburb is well serviced with schools, parkland and a dedicated retail zone for shopping. Holland Park also hosts Queensland's first crematorium, the Mount Thompson crematorium.

According to records (2011 Census), about 7,800  people live in Holland Park; their average age being 35. 23% were born overseas, most commonly in England and New Zealand (6%), although the most common languages to be spoken at home, apart from English are Greek or Somali (2.5%).
