Acacia Ridge (4110)

Named for its predominant flora, Acacia Ridge (4110) is located on the Southside 15 km south of the Brisbane CBD. Initially developed to settle families of servicemen returning from World War II, it continues as a residential centre but also services a number of heavy industries, particularly in motor vehicle manufacturing.

It is strategically placed as a logistics hub with ready access to road and rail for food distribution on behalf of large and smaller grocery chains. Acacia Ridge is the site of Queensland's largest railway yards handling the majority of interstate freight. It also adjoins a small airport.

According to the 2011 census, Acacia Ridge hosts about 6900 people with an average age of 34 years. Some 38% of its residents were born overseas especially in New Zealand and England (about 6%) and other than English, languages spoken at home include Vietnamese and Arabic to name a few.
