When inspecting yard structures the inspector is to identify any parts that are unsafe due to their height due to inadequate balustrading and the like.
Any such items are to be documented in Section E3.1 of the report. Stairs or platforms that are more than 1m above the ground level should have a balustrade greater than 1 meter in height and with no gaps that will allow a sphere greater than 125mm to pass through. Platforms greater than 3m from the ground should also be non-climbable. All components of balustrades should be in sound condition and well secured.
Any fall hazards present should be documented in section E3.1 of the report.
