Timber Pest Information
There are 4 types of timber pests that negatively affect the timber used to build homes.
These are:
and a phenomena known as Chemical Delignification
The first three are an important part of nature's recycling, carbon capture and storage process, breaking down dead trees and returning carbon and other minerals to the soil to reduce the build up of bush fire fuel, and increase soil fertility.
The fourth is primarily the result of man made pollution although salt air in coastal areas may also contribute to this fairly uncommon problem.
