The ABIS library is a collection of useful reference material relating to buildings and their problems as well as timber pests such as termites.

The library is a combination of material written by ABIS as a result of our own research and practical experience together with useful information gleaned from other authoritative sources.

 

Inappropriate Fasteners

The fasteners are of insufficient size and strength to withstand the load of the materials they are meant to uphold. It may also be that they are of inappropriate material to withstand the environment they are exposed to and may be vulnerable to weathering, corrosion or fungal decay which would compromise their strength.
