The ABIS library is a collection of useful reference material relating to buildings and their problems as well as timber pests such as termites.

The library is a combination of material written by ABIS as a result of our own research and practical experience together with useful information gleaned from other authoritative sources.

 

Excessive Cutting

Excessively cutting or notching a timber member for example to accommodate passage of plumbing pipework or ducting for air conditioning may compromise the strength and integrity of the member making it more prone to failure.
