Chamfer Weatherboards

Chamferboard is a form of weatherboarding which in turn is the cladding of a house consisting of long thin timber boards that overlap one another, horizontally on the outside of the wall. There are a number of profiles available but they usually have a tongued and grooved joint arranged to link the boards together or a rebate to allow overlapping on the chamfer of the ajoining board.
It is good practice to leave the lower part of a wall free of cladding to avoid dampness caused by air not circulating which could subsequently rot the weatherboarding.
