The ABIS library is a collection of useful reference material relating to buildings and their problems as well as timber pests such as termites.

The library is a combination of material written by ABIS as a result of our own research and practical experience together with useful information gleaned from other authoritative sources.

 

Brick Veneer

A brick facade is anchored to the timber frame of the house with metal brick ties. The brick veneer does not support the roof loads as all structural loads are supported by the timber frame. Also there is a space between the timber frame and the brick walls to allow for ventilation and prevent water from damaging the timber frame and the internal linings.
